Ingredients
For the donuts
150 g (1 cup + 3 tbsp) All purpose flour. You may need a little more depending how big your eggs are
2 Eggs
50 g (3½ tbsp) Soft Butter
30 g (2½ tbsp) Sugar
7 g (1 packet) Dried yeast or 15 g fresh yeast
Zest of half an orange
Pinch of Salt
Nutmeg (optional)
Nutella (for the filling)
Sugar to coat the donuts
Oil for frying
Method
For the donuts
Combine yeast, eggs and softened butter.
Add the dry ingredients and orange zest and knead the dough for 1 minute.
Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Roll out the dough and cut out the donuts. Cover and let the donuts rise for 1-2 hours.
Heat the oil to 160 °C or 320 °F and fry the donuts until golden.
Fill with Nutella and coat the donuts in sugar.
