Argentina Chocotorta

Argentina Chocotorta
Argentinian Chocolate Cake

Chocotorta is a an easy-to-make chocolate cake, often used for birthday celebrations in Argentina. This is a no-bake chocolate cake recipe and is one of the easiest desserts to make. You simply assemble the chocolate cake with layers of dulce de leche and put it in the fridge to chill.

INGREDIENTS

2¾ cups cream cheese (I used mascarpone cheese, but you can use any cream cheese you prefer) (600g)

2 cups dulce de leche (600g)

Crunchy chocolate cookies (the most popular choice in Argentina are the Chocolinas brand)

About 2 cups of coffee

INSTRUCTIONS

Brew coffee and allow to cool to room temperature.

Combine the dulce de leche and cream cheese until well combined.

Dip the cookies in the coffee for a few seconds and assemble on a tray or deep baking dish like I did.

Add a thin layer of cream and repeat the process.

With this recipe you should be able to make 4 to 5 layers.

Refrigerate for at least 6 hours, but even better overnight.

Serve this chocolate cake straight from the fridge!
