Ingredients
For the 50 calorie hot chocolate
80 g (⅓ cup) Skimmed milk
80 g (⅓ cup) Water
10 g (1½ tablespoons) Cocoa powder
¼ tsp Instant coffee powder (do not add more than this. It’s just to enhance the chocolate flavor)
1 tsp Cornstarch (corn flour)
Zero calorie sweetner of your choice
Pinch of salt
For the 50 calorie vegan hot chocolate
160 g (⅔ cup) Almond milk
10 g (1½ tablespoons) Cocoa powder
¼ tsp Instant coffee powder (do not add more than this. It’s just to enhance the chocolate flavor)
1 tsp Cornstarch (corn flour)
Zero calorie sweetner of your choice
Pinch of salt
For the skinny “whipped cream”
Any milk of your choice
Method
For the 50 calorie hot chocolate
In a pan mix the cocoa powder, the cornstarch and coffee with half of the milk until combined.
Add the remaining milk and sweetner and heat this mixture, stirring constantly until it comes to a gentle simmer. Simmer for 30 seconds, then take it off the heat.
Decorate and enjoy with skinny “whipped cream”.
For the “skinny whipped cream”
Heat the milk in a pan or in the microwave.
Whip using a milk frother.
