1 Minute Microwave Mug Cakes
Ingredients
For the vanilla mug cake
13 g (1 tbsp) Butter
15 g (1 tbsp) Sugar
¼ tsp Vanilla extract
25 g (2 tbsp) Milk
30 g (3 tbsp) All purpose flour
¼ tsp Baking powder
Sprinkles - optional
For the chocolate chip mug cake
13 g (1 tbsp) Butter
15 g (1 tbsp) Sugar
¼ tsp Vanilla
25 g (2 tbsp) Milk
30 g (3 tbsp) All purpose flour
¼ tsp Baking powder
Chocolate chips - add to your liking
For the chocolate mug cake
13 g (1 tbsp) Butter
12 g (2 tbsp) Cocoa powder
30 g (2 tbsp) Sugar
25 g (2 tbsp) Milk
20 g (2 tbsp) All purpose flour
¼ tsp Baking powder
Chocolate chips - optional
Nutella for frosting - optional
Method
For the vanilla and chocolate chip mug cakes
You will need a small mug about 6oz (170ml) in size.
Melt the butter in your mug.
Add the sugar and vanilla and mix to combine.
Add the room temperature milk, baking powder and flour and mix to
combine.
Stir in the chocolate chips or sprinkles.
Scrape the bottom of the mug, clean the edges and place the mug in the center of
your microwave. Cook on high for 1 minute.
Allow the cake to rest for 2 minutes and then enjoy.
For the chocolate mug cake
You will need a small mug about 6oz (170ml) in size.
Melt butter in your mug.
Add the cocoa powder and mix to combine.
Add the sugar, the room temperature milk, baking powder and flour and
mix to combine.
Optionally stir in some chocolate chips.
Scrape the bottom of your mug, clean the edges and place the in the center of
your microwave. Cook on high for 1 minute.
Optionally add Nutella as the frosting.
Allow the cake to rest for 2 minutes and then enjoy.
Tips
Remember, different ingredients have different densities. So don’t get confused when you see in the ingredients that 2 tbsp of flour and 2 tbsp of sugar have different amounts in grams.
If you’re using grams, please be precise and use the exact amounts in the
recipe.
Every microwave is different. Mug cakes can take anywhere between 1
minute - 1 minute and 15 seconds. Be careful not over cook your cake.
